As an essential requirement, all articles submitted to Prominentia Medical Journal must be original work, which has never been published previously and is submitted exclusively to Prominentia Medical Journal. The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit all the articles in aspects of style, format, and clarity.
Authors must revise their manuscripts and ensure that the format has followed the guideline shown below. Manuscripts with excessive errors in any aspect may be returned to authors for retyping or rejected.

Prominentia Medical Journal accepts the following types of articles:
- Original Article (Artikel Penelitian)
The article reports the original research. The authors must confirm in the Manuscript that they have ethical clearance for the conduct of the reported research. The ethical clearance should be submitted along with the Manuscript. The Manuscript consists of two Abstracts (written in Indonesian and English), Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
- Case Report (Laporan Kasus)
Case report highlights unique or important clinical cases. The authors must confirm in the Manuscript that they have obtained Written Permission from those whose case is being presented. The written permission should be submitted along with the Manuscript. The Manuscript consists of two Abstracts (written in Indonesian and English), an Introduction, Case Report, Discussion, and Conclusion.
- Review Article (Tinjauan Pustaka)
Review Article provides an assessment of current evidence covering a broad range of topics of concern. The Manuscript consists of two Abstracts (written in Indonesian and English), Introduction, Methods, Discussion, and Conclusion.
Publication Ethics
Prominentia Medical Journal follows guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Peraturan Kepala Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (Peka LIPI) No.5 Tahun 2014 to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. Please read the details here.
Language
- Manuscript should be written in Indonesian Language according to Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI) and Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI). Terms in other languages should be written in italic.
- For measurement, Prominentia Medical Journal uses System International (SI) units.
- Decimal is written with comma [,] and thousands or million is written with dot [.], (ex 0,08 and Rp 82.000).
Structure
The Manuscript is written in Times New Roman, single spacing, double column, main text sized 12 pt. The detailed format should refer to the Article Template.
- Title
The title is written in Indonesian in BOLD CAPS in 14 pt, and the maximum words are 15 words. There should not be any abbreviation in the title.
- Authors
Authors are written without a degree in 12 pt. Each Author is separated with a comma [,]. The affiliation number is written at the end of every Author in superscript. Asterisk [*] is written after the affiliation number to identify the correspondence.
- Authors' affiliations
Affiliations are written sequentially according to affiliation number. The affiliation number is written at the beginning of every affiliation. Affiliation consists of Department, Faculty, University, City, and Country for lecturers; Faculty, University, City, and Country for Students; and Hospital/clinic name for clinicians. If there is the same affiliation in more than one Author, affiliation should not be repeated, and place the same affiliation number after Author's name. Affiliations are written in 10 pt.
- Correspondence
The Corresponding Author is the Author that would be contacted regarding edits, reviews, and revisions. Correspondence consists of email address and active phone number. Correspondence is written in 10 pt.
- Abstract
The abstract is written in Indonesian (Abstrak) and English (Abstract). The maximum number of words of each abstract is 300 words. The abstract should be concise and precise with enough information.
- Keywords
Keywords are limited to 5 words or short phrases that will allow proper and convenient indexing and separated with commas [,].
- Main Text
The main text is written in Indonesian. The text should be structured as explained in the types of articles. Each structure or subtitle is written in BOLD CAPS in 12 pt. The detailed format should refer to the Article Template. The spelled-out abbreviation followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis should be used on the first mention.
Cite in (Author, date) format for every reference in Harvard Style. Detailed format refers to Harvard Style Reference below.
Tables and Figures
- Tables and its title should be included in the text. The Table's title should be placed on the top of the Table. Do not use vertical lines, and horizontal lines are only used for the heading and the last row of the Table. If the authors use data from another published or unpublished source, obtain permission and acknowledge the source entirely.
- Figures should be made as self-explanatory as possible. Figures should be either professionally drawn or photographed, in a format (JPEG or TIFF), Gray-scale, or color in RGB at least 300 dpi. The figure's title should be placed under the figure. If the authors use figures from another published or unpublished source, obtain permission and acknowledge the source entirely.
- Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively according to the order cited in the text.
- Acknowledgments (if any)
Personal acknowledgments should be limited to appropriate professionals who contributed to the paper, including technical help, financial or material support, and general support by a department chairperson.
- References
The reference list in Prominentia Medical Journal uses Harvard Style, details can be found here (https://www.mendeley.com/guides/harvard-citation-guide/) or also can be downloaded here. The Author should use references not older than 10 years old, and there are at least 10 references in each Manuscript. Using Mendeley as a tool for referencing is preferable and encouraged.
